You Say It’s Your Birthday
March 29, 2006Being so close to my own blog birthday (it’s next week!), I found this post from Stowe Boyd a great read. His 5 points or ideas “… for anyone who wants to retain the sense of fun and even joy that can come from the daily ritual of writing.” and his personal mantra “always beginning, never finished,” provide some inspiration and motivation to keep blogging. I’ll try and write some of my own thoughts on this topic as a birthday post.
Berlin Long Time
March 28, 2006Nick’s journey is taking him to Berlin.
Whether we shall meet again I know not.
Therefore our everlasting farewell take.– William Shakespeare
Why I Love My Mac — Reason #0003
March 28, 2006There’s been a lot of hoohah here in Melbourne about the extension to daylight savings for the Commonwealth Games, particularly amongst computer users.
Windows have release an automatic update / patch download, BUT it warns that this may not update appointment times that were already scheduled in calendar applications such as Outlook for between 3.00am March 26th and 3.00am on April 2nd!
Apple also released an Update (10.4.5) which updates the rules for time zones and Daylight Savings Time to conform to changes in the law for the United States, Australia, and other locations, for 2006 and later.
I hadn’t even thought about the implications of daylights savings on my PowerBook, and low and behold, when I went to check the issue was already in hand because I ran Software Update just the other day. I love it when stuff is looked after!
Aussie Blogs
March 27, 2006I added my blog(s) to australianblogs.com.au–”a free community resource to bookmark your favourite Australian blogs” the other day, which appears to have been a good move. I’ve received quite a few referrring links already. You don’t need to register or login, so if you’re an Aussie blogger, I’d recommend you give it a go. C’mon Aussie.
Happy Birthday Georgia!
March 25, 2006It’s is my beautiful little girl’s 6th birthday today. Geez, I guess she’s not so little anymore – where did those last six years go? Seems like only yesterday that her expectant parents were anxiously awaiting her arrival into the world. Now she’s a vivacious, independent little girl preparing herself to take on the world by herself. Scary. Makes me feel that little bit older too ;( Happy Birthday Georgie girl, with our everlasting love.
