Heading off for a break!

September 19, 2005

I’m making up for lost time tonight — seems I have an urge to blog seeing as though I’m going to be offline for the next week or so. wifeandkids.com and I are heading up to the Murray to do some camping, so unless someone’s invented gumtree broadband, I won’t be doing much blogging. I’m looking forward to a well earned break. See you on the otherside!

Golf in Cobram-Barooga

September 19, 2005

Just got back from a golf trip with the lads from Golf in Melbourne. We stayed in Cobram and played 18 on Saturday and 18 on Sunday at Cobram-Barooga. My scores improved as the days went on … it’s a shame I’m not still on the course, I may have got a decent score by now!

Planning Camp

September 19, 2005

Last week, all the guys from work went away for the day for a ‘planning’ session. I’ve done this with success in the past and thought it would be a good idea. It’s always good to conduct these type of planning sessions ‘off-site’ and away from the daily distractions (phones, email etc). A number of people are often sceptical about the benefits of conducting these types of sessions, but in my experience, as long as people come prepared to be open and frank and that discussions are inclusive, they can be an invaluable tool for getting people pulling in the same direction. In that regard, our session from last week was great … and we also managed to head out for dinner and to catch a round of mini-golf. I haven’t laughed so hard for a LONG time. It was like school camp! All good for the spirit.

Happy Father’s Day

September 4, 2005

I spent Father’s Day with the kids … after breakfast together, we just mucked around the house kicking the footy, playing the Playstation together and watching movies. The kids really made a special effort for me today and I appreciate them for it. I’m truly blessed to have such great kids and I wouldn’t trade being a dad for anything. Thanks Madelyn, thanks Georgia, daddy loves you.
